Construction Engineering and Inspection

This $20 million project entailed the rehabilitation of pedestrian ramps in the boroughs of Manhattan and Queens, NY. The purpose is to make safe and accessible corners, compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). In two years, the project aims to construct approximately 362 corners. ZOFS is tasked to provide community outreach services to support NYC DDC. ZOFS is also, committed to providing inspection services to aid in ramp surveys, and mark-outs and oversee excavation, grading, formwork, and construction of ramps and sidewalks. This also includes the restoration of roadway and pavement markings. This project is being constructed alongside DOT’s ped ramp. division. This project requires the team to visually inspect existing topographic features and record ground surface measurements to verify availability of space to accommodate the proposed pedestrian ramps. This also includes reviewing the topographic survey done on the corner quadrant intersection in accordance with NYC DDC and DOT standards.
