Construction Administration and Observation

In the heart of Manhattan, ZOFS Engineering P. C. undertook a pivotal project aimed at enhancing the borough’s infrastructure—the Rehabilitation of Roadways and Pedestrian Ramps. This project, commissioned by the NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC), focused on making pedestrian corners safe and accessible, compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), thus serving a critical need in one of the city’s busiest areas. Throughout the duration of the project, approximately 450 corners were upgraded to improve accessibility and safety. The ZOFS team was instrumental in various phases of the project, from conducting initial ramp surveys and mark-outs to supervising key construction activities such as excavation, grading, formwork, and the meticulous restoration of sidewalks. The team’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance was evident. A major component of the construction involved the installation of about 3,400 linear feet of 18-inch deep normal concrete and steel-faced curbs, utilizing durable materials such as granite and bluestone.
